D🍩UGHNUT SH🍩P CH🍩P
The Quiet Recession and the Loud Depression 2
Look at the picture. Abandoned buildings. Tents where the living room used to be. EVICTED nailed to the door. The whole American system is cracking in plain sight. Gas stays high. Bills stay high. Everything is skyrocketing. Restaurant plates cost too much for what lands on them. That is the quiet recession nobody wants to name and the loud depression everybody is already under.
Princeton’s Eviction Lab counted roughly 144,000 eviction filings across metro Atlanta in a year about one filing for every four renter households, more than New York City while Georgia is giving $50 million to a foreign country. Ask the question: Who gets housed, and who gets checked?
