Descriptions:
On this (part I) episode of Lady Mprez presents, Lady Mprez discusses Black Privilege. Does black privilege exist? Lady Mprez starts off by talking about how some black owned businesses operate and lack professionalism in aspects of being on time, customer service, and how there’s an expectation for black people to support black owned businesses despite not being professional. She then shows how Black people have certain privileges being black. She brings this point in by discussing the discrimination Haitians received in the 80s and 90s from Black Americans and other Caribbean groups in Florida. She shows how certain aspects of Black culture have privileges due to the way they talk, skin color, or even nationality. She then ends this episode and draws the point in of how the “Victim Mentality” in a sense is Black Privilege. There are so many layers to touch on. It’s time for some Real Talk👏🏾.
