According to the FHP, Celestine told hotel workers in Holmes County Monday morning that she had been directed by “God” to go on a shooting spree and claimed it had to do with the solar eclipse.

Troopers said not long after Celestine left the hotel in a purple Dodge Challenger, she drove onto Interstate 10, traveling west, and shot into two cars. One of the drivers was shot in the neck, and the other was grazed on his arm.

An FHP Trooper saw Celestine’s Dodge Challenger exit I-10 in Ponce De Leon and try to make a U-Turn back on the interstate before the trooper pulled her over, according to the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office.

Celestine was arrested and charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and improper discharge of a firearm. She was booked into the Holmes County Jail.

During a search of Celestine’s car, troopers said they found an AR-15 and a 9mm handgun.
