I think K-12 helps to shape the child’s foundation for dealing with different types of people. It teaches kids that we all come from different walks of life and not everyone has what you may have. They learn to deal with bullies and how to treat their peers. I think it’s up to the parents to help shape their child’s future and not depend fully on the school system.
Homeschooling is not a bad thing. It’s a different type of schooling and there’s nothing wrong with that.

I think the schools in different neighborhoods definitely help to facilitate that school to prison pipeline. Schools with more money and more parent support, do better overall.
Unfortunately schools with more black and brown kids tend to be lower income and don’t get the same benefits as the predominantly white schools.
