END OF AN ERA: BLOGTALKRADIO IS DEAD

Blogtalkradio is dead, however the era of independent journalism, streamers, and podcasting, which it played a critical role in supporting, are thriving more than ever. How can one of the sites that was essential in early podcasting now die? You can see that almost all of the top influencers have used the BlogTalkRadio platform, from RFK, Red Pill, Blue Pill,Charlagmagne tha God, Judge Joe Brown, and many others have been BlogTalkRadio. BlogTalkRadio stopped operating on January 31, 2025. BlogTalkRadio is a web-based platform that allowed users to create and distribute live and on-demand radio and podcast content. Blogtalk empowered its users with same capability that only radio stations had at the time- the ability to broadcast internationally and to have listeners call in via telephone. Even though you can’t hear any audio you can still go to pages on BlogTalkRadio creators to stay updated, for now. BlogTalkRadio had been in operation since 2006. I, Palmetto Star, was actually one of the first users of the platform. In 2006 I was one of the main promoters for THE SESSION LIVE an award winning Spoken Word event that happened every first Tuesday in South Carolina. The hosts of The Session Live (Spiryt and Max Parthas) used BlogTalkRadio to showcase artists coming to THE SESSION LIVE and I would promote the radio show. After that BlogTalkRadio took off many celebrities and original podcasters also appeared on the platform. 2RAW4TV began using BlogTalkRadio to get out the message and 2RAW4TV’s first show was on BlogTalkRadio on November 4, 2010. BlogTalkRadio was the beginning of many podcasters careers. Even though BlogTalkRadio was a great platform there were many issues that plagued the platform: 1.audio quality, as BlogTalkRadio seemed to position itself to rival AM/FM radio with its features and reach the sound quality of the platform left much to be desired 2. Unwillingness to stand by some its most powerful creators when public pressure was applied 3. Censorship even though BlogTalkRadio provided “free speech” platforms it censored 2RAW4TV under the guise of “techinal issues” and other things.

2RAW4TV is not remissed that BlogTalkRadio decided to shutdown when 2RAW4TV moved off the platform. 2RAW4TV is also not remissed in realizing that of the 18 years BlogTalkRadio operated 2RAW4TV was there for 14 years. The biggest mistake BlogTalkRadio made was bow down to public pressure and cancel 2RAW4TV radio show for 6 months when racists got upset about a demonstration that was critiqued by mainstream mayonnaise media and people called them out because 2RAW4TV was on thier platform. BlogTalkRadio could have stood firmly by thier creators, but did not. Prior to the hiatus 2RAW4TV was synonymous with BlogTalkRadio. In fact, if you googled “BlogTalkRadio.com” 2RAW4TV was the first site that popped up for many pages. This was a very big mistake and BlogTalkRadio never fully recovered from.

Despite its faux pas BlogTalkRadio was still one of the foundations to this podcast era. You will see a lot of the older podcasts that were just on that platform now on 2RAW4TV.TV rest in power BlogTalkRadio.com you did a lot to shape the new world we are in. 2RAW4TV salutes BlogTalkRadio.com
