The Premeire of Doughnut Shop Chop Podcast At Vegan Dream In Atlanta Celebrated Black History With A Deeper Understanding

When Ras Izes created Vegan Dream, a place where you can get gluten free healthy pastries and a plethora of plant based tasty plates, his DREAM was large, but did he imagine it shaping into the cultural epicenter that it is becoming in Atlanta? On Februrary 20th Ras Izes  premeired his podcast “Doughnut Shop Chop” on 2raw4tv.tv and changed many people’s perspective on what has been classified “Black History Month”.

“If you think Black History is 500 years of Slavery- you don’t know what Black History is” Ras Izes said on the 1st episode of Doughnut Shop Chop “Black History begins when they said ‘Let There Be Light’ the first light came out of the Blackness”

Many people came through while “Doughnut Chop Shop” was being filmed and added their perspective on Black History, the power of spirituality, and what it will take to change society. The patrons thought they were just going to run in and buy one of Vegan Dream’s world famous doughnuts (which they did) but they also added fuel to this international movement. Benjamin Divine CEO of GemStone Dripping, who just happened to come through during the taping, compared Vegan Dream to the iconic Busy Bees, another Atlanta restaurant where a lot of powerful civil rights leaders emerged from.

Experts tell us the importance of history is that it gives us the opportunity to “examine and interpret human identities and transformations of society and civilizations over time.”

This Black History Month it is important to remember that within our very DNA we carry this wisdom, a wisdom of generations. We only need to examine the patterns of our broader history in ways that help us better understand what our  forebears brought with them from the Motherland–those intangible attributes, the whispers of the ancestors, passed from generation to generation like the texture of our hair, the melanin in our skin, our height, our hips, our noses and our lips.

This is where we find keys to understanding how to navigate current and future dilemmas as we continue to thrive as a people.  In addition, we must be aware of what is happening to other Black people in the diaspora.

Check out Doughnut Chop Shop every Tuesday at 9pm est on 2RAW4TV.TV this is definitely history in the making, and Ras Izes and Vegan Dream is making it, along with delicious doughnuts! Happy Black History Month. Subscribe, Share, and Stay Tuned. The revolution will not be televised.
