Episode 9
Hosted by B.I.G. Nel Obuya
Outlaw Radeo Podcast
Black America shows up big for Juneteenth — cookouts, festivals, concerts, corporate “support,” and a new wave of Foundational Black American pride.
But when December hits?
Kwanzaa barely gets the respect it deserves… especially Ujamaa, the principle of cooperative economics.
In this episode, we dig into:
🔥 Why Juneteenth took off nationally, but Kwanzaa didn’t
🔥 Foundational Black American Perspective
🔥 What Ujamaa really means for Black survival in 2025
🔥 Whether we actually practice cooperative economics
🔥 Why there’s no need for beef between Cultural Nationalists & Pan-Africans
🔥 How we can celebrate FBA heritage while honoring African roots and New Afrikan culture
🔥 The December Ujamaa mindset — and how to build together
Plus:
Street Scholar Report
▪ DC National Guard shooting & Trump’s political posturing
▪ Nonprofits & schools losing funding nationwide
▪ December is the season for Cooperative Economics
Final Word:
It’s time to get intentional about building ourselves up and stepping away from the people and spaces committed to tearing us down.
Tap in. Build with us.

Great show tonight bro. I think you were very balanced in your approach to the two, in lieu of the backdrop of being of Afrikan descent and our Afrikan American experience. Both Kwanzaa and Juneteenth should be used and leveraged to our collective advantage.
